Limassol Marina

The construction of the new Limassol marina, a project expected to enhance and enrich the tourist product in Cyprus, has started officially and is expected be ready in the autumn of 2012.

The project consists of 280 units (residential, commercial, entertainment and cultural development) and it is expected to cost more than 350 million euro and cover a land area of 100 thousand square meters.

The marine area will stretch 170 thousand square meters and can accommodate up to one thousand vessels.

The General Mananger of the Project stressed that Limassol marina will enrich the tourist product, create new jobs, enhance the area of the historic centre of Limassol and trigger investment in the region.

Glowfrog Studios was commissioned in mid 2008 as the projects visualisation consultant and has worked steadily since, building a highly detailed 3D model of the entire project, including all the yachts.

‘We have created a valuable 3D asset (totalling more than a billion polygons). It has been used to fully interrogate and refine the design before going on site’, claims Glowfrog director Nigel Hunt.  ‘The pre-visualisation work carried out over the past 18 months has potentially saved the development millions of euros in abortive site works and has helped inform better design decisions.

Glowfrog are delivering all the marketing and PR imagery, films and interactive solutions that a project of this scale demands.
